Native Trees under Threat in Ancient Capital

Nara park, located in one of Japan's ancient capitals, is home to a primeval forest designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Lately, however, an invasive species of tree is threatening the ecological balance of the forest — and a popular inhabitant of the park is making the situation worse.
